JUNIOR COSPLAY 12 & UNDER
The Junior Cosplay Contest will have sign-up on Sunday at the convention. Sign-up by Sooke Room from 12:45pm to 3pm on Friday Sept 23d.
PRE-JUDGE & JUNIOR SIGN-UP:
Contestants will be given access to the VCC lower level during the hours of 12:45pm to 3pm on Friday Sept 23rd for pre-judge and junior sign-up. Contestants will not be allowed to enter any other area of the convention until 2:30pm when the VIP access opens. This will allow contestants some time to experience the convention before the contest.
More information on times and check-in process to be emailed to each contestant closer to the convention.
MAX ENTRIES OF 50 CONTESTANTS (including Junior)
Novice: New to cosplay/sewing. Having limited experience in creating costumes. They haven’t won any awards previously at the con. Costumes must be partially made by themselves.
Journeyman: Has some experience in costuming for themselves, not professional. Who may have won award(s) in the past. Costumes must be mostly made by themselves.
Master: Person who has been sewing and creating for many years. Costumes must be entirely made by themselves (minus footwear/wigs and the like). Anyone can enter this category at their own discretion.
Closet Cosplay: A no-sew category. A costume that has been put together using items already found in your closet or thrifted. Alterations can be made to these items (hemming, adding trim, ribbon etc.)
Judges Choice: This can be for armor, prop, embroidery or anything they like from any category.
Group: Two or more characters from the same fandom. Juniors are welcome with adults for the group category.
- Adult Novice: 1st – $150, 2nd – $100 , 3rd – $50 gift basket or certificate
- Adult Journeyman: 1st – $250, 2nd – $150 , 3rd – $100 gift basket or certificate
- Adult Master: 1st – $350, 2nd – $250, 3rd – $150 gift basket or certificate
- Closet Cosplay (one prize): $100
- Judges Choice (one prize): $100
- Group (one prize): $200
- Junior: 1st – $100, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $25 – $175 total

MEET THE HOSTS
NORTH PACIFIC COSPLAY
Cosplaying together since 2010, Kari and Julie have created dozens of costumes from various anime, video games and comic books. They attend local conventions on the island regularly and have won many awards together for their costumes and performances. They have also worked on set, creating geek-themed indie films by both providing costumes and acting, their films frequent the con circuit worldwide. With a passion for their community and all things ‘geeky’, they are always eager for a chance to play dress up.
